Doris Joan Katz Lieder, 75, of Babson Park, Florida, passed away on Monday, January 13, 2014, at her home with her devoted partner for life, Don, at her side, due to degenerative osteoarthritis and pulmonary arterial hypertension.
She had four children with her first husband, Els Crandall, three step-children in her second marriage to Don Lieder a marriage of 48 years. Raising them all as her own. She dedicated her life to her family, husband, seven children, 18 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren, whom she enjoyed in person and picture until her passing.
She was preceded in passing by her parents, Eldon and Hazel (Wahl) Katz and children James Dean Crandall and Susan Crandall Bowers. She is survived by her only sibling Dean (Marilyn) Katz of Munith, Mich.
She also was very active as Vice President of both Cavco and Mid West Contracting, both Michigan corporations.
Her main passion was as owner and manager of Long Lane Farm in Fenton, Mich., raising, breeding and racing standard bred race horses until her retirement.
She then enjoyed 10 years of RV Motor Coach travel to all points of the U.S.A., Canada, Alaska and both mainland and the Mexican Baja.
A celebration of her life will be at the United Methodist Church in Munith, Michigan at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 3, 2014.
