Masks at Northville Downs

Horsemen,

This is a zero-tolerance rule.

The MHHA would like to let the membership know that our ability to continue racing at Northville Downs is based directly on our ability to comply with the executive orders in place due to COVID-19. There will be zero tolerance for individuals not complying as we will not jeopardize the ability of the entire membership to race over this issue.

According to Executive Order 2020-153, “Any individual who leaves their home or place of residence must wear a face covering over their nose and mouth: 1, (a) When in any indoor space; (b) When outdoors and unable to consistently maintain a distance of six feet or more from individuals who are not members of their household;…” “2, Although a face covering is strongly encouraged even for individuals not required to wear one, the requirement to wear a face covering does not apply to individuals who: (a) Are younger than five years old (and, per guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (“CDC”), children under the age of two should not wear a mask): (b) Cannot medically tolerate a face covering; (c) Are eating or drinking while seated at a food service establishment;”

Northville Downs is required to address this issue with customers or licensees who are not in compliance with this executive order. They are also required to report these situations and report the name of the licensee, action taken, and forward that information to the MI Gaming Control Board.

We all want to be able to continue to race so we ask they individuals take this seriously so as not to risk our ability to host pari-mutuel races.
