Max J. Francisco, age 87 of Lake, passed away Friday, November 5, 2010 at the Tendercare Nursing Home in Traverse City. Max was born the son of Glen and Hazel (Dunham) Francisco on October 4, 1923 in Montrose. He was united in marriage to Jeanette Beardsley on December 31, 1971, and she predeceased him on July 22, 2001. Max had worked as a Supervisor for G.M. in Flint. While living in Montrose, Max had owned MAJA Acres where he trained, raised and raced Horses. Max had lived in the Lake area for the past 17 years. He belonged to the M.H.H.A., the U.S.T.A. as well the U.A.W. in Flint. Max enjoyed attending the local Auction Sales. Max’s family wishes to thank the staff of both Hospice of Michigan and Tendercare Nursing Home of Traverse City.
Max is survived by his step sons Kurt Eichinger of Bay City and Harold (Cynthia) Gustafson of Allen, TX; his step daughter Candance (Louis) Schussler of Traverse City; a sister Donna Horning of Fenton; 5 step grandchildren and 8 step great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. Max was predeceased by his parents, a step daughter -in-law Diane Eichinger and sisters Edna and Onlee.
Services for Max will be held at the Farwell Chapel of Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home, 165 S. Hall Street, Farwell, MI on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. with Max’s step son Pastor Kurt Eichinger officiating. Burial will take place on Tuesday afternoon at 3:00 P.M. in the Montrose Cemetery in Montrose. Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M.
