President Tom Barrett’s message:
The MHHA annual banquet and awards ceremony is right around the corner. We meet on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at the Johnson Center, Cleary University-Livingston at 3725 Cleary Drive in Howell.
The annual meeting begins at 5:00 pm – this is a great opportunity to review the 2016 year, provide your feedback on what worked and where we need to improve. Registration (and the reception) begins at 5:00 pm. Dinner is served at 6:30 pm and the award presentations and the scholarship auction will follow.
In this newsletter, we have included the membership bylaws for your review. The Board is recommending several changes to be approved by the membership. These changes are to update several sections that have become outdated as a result of our continual changing digital presence. It’s a reminder of the rules and requirements for membership in our organization. The vote to change the bylaws will take place during the annual banquet.
Please take a minute to look over this newsletter. We have scholarship auction slips and appreciate your donations to the auction. In previous years contributions included flags, a horseshoe wine rack with eight bottles of wine, bridles, blanket holders, Detroit Pistons tickets, horse breedings, even a Coach handbag. The scholarship is awarded to applicants for higher education.
We also have sponsorship opportunities for you, both for the annual banquet and our organization as a whole. Sponsors may choose to receive exposure in our newsletter, at the annual banquet, on our website, or all three.
