Kenneth E. Stirrett age 70 died October 2, 2018. He was born in Bad Axe to Vaughn “Bob” and Eva Jean Stirrett. He graduated from Sandusky High School. Ken served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Saratoga from 1968 until 1972. He was able to tour the world while in the Navy. Ken married Pauline Vanbrande on January 9, 1987.
Ken was a harness horseman all of his life. When he was a boy he lived with his grandparent’s part time. His grandpa taught him all he knew about horses. His grandfather Harold Snodgrass was honored into the Horseman Hall of Fame. Ken was a member of the Horseman Association.
He enjoyed hunting with his coon dogs, and rabbit hunting with his beagles. He liked to fish, play euchre and tell jokes to his family and friends.
Ken survived by his wife and companion for 31 years Pauline Stirrett, two daughters Kelly Stirrett, Karen Stirrett, and sisters Sandy (Corbet ) McCoy, Diane Hall, Rebecca Kohler, Vicki Stirrett and an aunt Gloria (John) Belew and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Ken proceeded in death by a brother Bill and a sister Vicki Duffy.
A visitation will be at Carman Funeral Home in Brown City, Friday October 5, 2018 from 2:00 until 8:00 pm.
Funeral service will be held Saturday at 11:00 am at Carman Funeral Home.
