We are deeply saddened to report the passing of Robert V. Shell, (72), at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, MI. Robert was born in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada on May 18, 1938 to William and Elsie (Morris) Shell. His family moved to the U.S. and settled in Massachusetts where Bob started his lifelong love of horses by delivering newspapers on horseback at the age of twelve.
He owned and operated a trucking business in Ocala, FL. for several years. Bob’s main love and passion was training and racing standard bred harness horses. He was a member of USTA and MHHA. Bob is survived by his wife of 20 years, Julia (Rosseter) Shell, son, Robert Nicholas Shell, brother, Gary (Judy) Shell of Derry, New Hampshire. Bob is also survived by his Coldwater family, Carolyn (Alec) Hammond, Darlene (Jerry) Morgan and Kendra (Mike) Burns.
A memorial service will be held 7:00 p.m., Thursday, July 29, 2010 at Heritage Hall in Heritage Park in Coldwater, MI with Rev. Carlene Swann officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Refurbish Pets, P.O. Box 83, Coldwater, MI 49036.
