Thomas E. Clark
(August 27, 1930 – February 9, 2012)
of Allegan, died Thursday, February 9, 2012, at the Wings Home in Allegan. Mr. Clark was born August 27, 1930, in Valley Twp., the son of Edward and Elsie (Reid) Clark. He was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving as a Military Policeman. Tom farmed since he was 14 years old, they raised crops and livestock. In the early 80’s he became involved with Harness Horse Racing, which he loved for the next 20 years. He was also quite a fighter, in 1953 he was the Michigan Golden Gloves Heavyweight Champion. On September 9, 1952, Thomas Edison Clark married Wanda Kleinbrink at the Allegan County Fair in the Grandstand in front of 4000 people. Surviving are his wife, Wanda, 3 children; Tom and Pam Clark of North Carolina, Gary and Robin Clark of Allegan, and Sandy and Joe Dendel of Allegan, 7 grandchildren; Nathan Clark, Shannon and Ethan Englehorn, Brandon Clark, Alan and Erin Clark, Jennifer Clark, Ryan Utter, and Max Miniat, 1 great grandson, Marcus Clark, his brother, Dick and Ellie Clark of Allegan, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his 6 brothers; Roy, Harry, George, Bill, Ed, and Jim, and his 2 sisters; Ethel and Rosie. Friends may meet with the family on Sunday, February 12, from 2-5pm, at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where funeral services will be held on Monday at 11am. Pastor Joe Spackman will officiate. Interment Hudson Corners Cemetery, Allegan Twp. Memorials may be made to the Wings Home, Allegan.
