Wayne E. Badders

WAYNE E. BADDERS, age 85 of Lake Somerset, Cement City, passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2016, at his home.
He was born on August 30, 1931, in Hudson, Michigan, to Estel and Lula Mae (Friess) Badders. Wayne married Barbara Lou Kuhn on October 5, 1952, in Rollin, Michigan, and she survives. He graduated from Hudson High School in 1949, and then graduated from Tri-State University in Angola, Indiana in 1958, with a Mechanical Engineering Degree. He lived the past 30 years at Lake Somerset. Wayne was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the United States Army. He was a Superintendant of plant facilities for Consumers Power, for 30 years, retiring in 1985. He was a member of the Michigan Harness Horseman Association. He enjoyed cars, stock cars, horses, motorcycling, camping, boating, snowmobiling and hunting.
Surviving besides his wife Barbara are two sons, Randall Wayne Badders of Burbank, CA, Mitchell (Sharon) Badders of Cement City, two daughters, Pamela Lynn Badders (Kim) of Dimondale, MI, Christy Ann (Dale) Sumner of Cement City, grandchildren, Joseph Wayne Sumner, Alicia Kay Badders, Mykel Francis Sumner, Taylor Lynn Sumner all of Cement City, nieces, nephews and cousins. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, LaVerna Double and his father-in-law, Lester Kuhn.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. on Friday, September 30, 2016, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at
3:00 p.m. at the Lutheran Church of the Lakes, 8800 N. Rollin Highway, Addison, MI, with Pastor Steven Newberg officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to the Brown-Van Hemert Funeral Home in Addison.
