MHHA Call to Action: January 16, 2026!

Dear MHHA and MAFE Members,

House Bills 4346-47 remain on the House Floor awaiting third reading and a vote of the House. Despite our Bills having bipartisan support and sponsorship these bills were not called up for a vote this week. To ensure these Bills have the opportunity to pass the Senate and be presented to the Governor prior to our breeding and county fair season we are humbly asking for urgency in the House of Representatives and your help. Revenues from HB4346-47 is desperately needed by many Michigan County Fairs to continue their historic annual fairs.

We need your assistance immediately please. Please take the time to call your Michigan State Rep. today, this weekend or Monday at the latest. Your communication is critical to our success.

Please be polite, professional and brief.

We humbly request your support of HB4346 & 47 to support all Michigan County Fairs and the Michigan Horse Industry. These Bills are very important to my local fair, my farm and my family in ____________.

These bills have been vetted by all 27 Michigan Casinos to ensure it doesn’t lead to additional gaming. They also include an amendment to prevent a decrease in our Michigan School Aid Fund. These bills have a high sense of urgency to allow for payments to fairs prior to our upcoming Michigan County Fair Summer season. These additional revenues and incentives are critical to the historical preservation of many Michigan Fairs and our Industry and we sincerely request your support to bring these bills up for a vote and passage.

Respectfully,

MHHA or MAFE MEMBER
