2026 Program Payment Due Dates

2026 Michigan Sired and Mixed Colt Stakes Program

MI Sired 10 -event series: 8 Blue, 8 Green, the Great Lakes Stakes & Spartan Stakes | Mixed 8-event series

*Michigan Sired horses may race in the Mixed program but are onlyrequired to nominate and sustain to the Sired program

Colt Stakes SIRED Nomination (MI SIRED ONLY)	$450	Feb 17th
Colt Stakes MIXED Nomination (MI BRED)* one-time payment	$500	Feb 17th
Colt Stakes SIRED Sustaining Payment (MI SIRED ONLY) - If nominated by Feb 17th	$450	April 15th
Colt Stakes SIRED SUPPLEMENTAL Payment (MI SIRED ONLY) - Payment only necessary if the February 17th nomination was missed	$1,950	April 15th
Colt Stakes MIXED SUPPLEMENTAL Payment (MI BRED) - Payment only necessary if the February 17th nomination was missed	$1,200	April 15th

If the April 15th payments are missed - horse are NOT eligible to compete in the 2026 Colt Stakes Program

Michigan Sire Stakes - Foals of 2023

Sire Stakes Sustaining Payment (Foals of 2023) - must have sustained as a 2-year-old in 2025 to be eligible to make this payment

Michigan Sire Stakes - Foals of 2024

Sire Stakes Sustaining Payment (Foals of 2024) - Nominated as yearlings in 2025	$200	March 16th
Supplemental Payment of $1,000 can be made for Michigan Sired 2-year-olds who were NOT previously nominated to the Michigan Sire Stakes as yearlings	$1,000	March 16th
Late Sire Stakes Sustaining Payment of $750 can be made for Michigan Sired 2-year-olds, who were previously nominated as yearlings, eligible to the Michigan Sire Stakes, if the March 16th Sustaining payment is missed	$750	April 15th

Michigan Sire Stakes - Foals of 2025

Sires Stakes Nominations (Foals of 2025) - MI SIRED ONLY	$25	June 30th
Sire Stakes LATE Nomination (Foals of 2025) - only necessary if the June 30th nomination was missed	$100	Dec 30th

If you choose to mail staking payments, MHHA strongly advises sending them via certified mail or using USPS Form 3817 (Certificate of Mailing).

The USPS receipt is your official proof of mailing. If an envelope is delayed or lost in transit, this receipt is the only way to verify that your payment was mailed on time.

To avoid potential issues altogether, members are encouraged to use the online forms and credit card payment options available on the MHHA website, scan and email your forms to info@mhha.com, or call the MHHA office at 517-349-2920 to make a payment by phone.
